Stack Tower: complete guide

Rules, tips and answers for this free browser mini-game.

About this game

Stack Tower is a pure timing game. A block slides back and forth above your tower and a single tap drops it. Anything hanging over the edge is sliced away, so the platform you have to hit gets narrower with every slightly-late tap. The blocks also travel faster the higher you build, which means the run always ends the same way — not because the game got unfair, but because your timing window shrank to nothing. It is endless, it takes about thirty seconds to lose, and it is very hard to stop at one attempt.

How to play

  • Watch the block sliding above your tower.
  • Tap the board, press the Drop button, or hit Space to release it.
  • Overhanging edges are trimmed off, so the next block is narrower.
  • Keep stacking; the run ends when you miss the tower completely.

Game rules

  • Your score is the number of blocks successfully stacked.
  • Any overhang is permanently removed from the block width.
  • Block speed increases as the tower grows.
  • A drop with no overlap ends the run immediately.

Tips to improve your score

  • Tap slightly before the block looks aligned — your reaction adds delay.
  • Aim for the centre of the block below rather than an edge.
  • Once the block is narrow, use the direction reversal at the walls as a rhythm cue.
  • Do not chase a perfect drop when a safe one is available.
  • Play a few rounds to learn the speed curve; timing is learnable here.

Difficulty

Medium — simple to play, impossible to sustain forever.

Average play time

30 to 60 seconds per tower.
